At Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center (PVHMC), manual data entry fed spreadsheets, resulting in a time-consuming and error-prone budget season. Finance staff usually recruited auxiliary volunteers to pitch in, but it still required nearly a week to input the data.

Further complicating the process, the budget document consisted of several spreadsheets with more than a dozen tabs each that fed the master document. Balancing errors were common, adding days to the budget process.

In the 2-minute video below, PVHMC Controller Andrew Dire shares the secret to 30% faster budgeting: no more manual data entry and one database feeding all reports, creating myriad efficiencies and opening the door to focus on higher-value work.
