Kaufman Hall’s Axiom Data Exchange Joins the Epic App Orchard to Streamline Sharing, Accuracy of Data Used to Deliver Insights for Cost and Care Decisions

CHICAGO – October 10, 2019 – Kaufman Hall, a leading provider of enterprise performance management (EPM) software, data, and management consulting services, today announced that Kaufman Hall’s Axiom Data Exchange application has joined the Epic App Orchard. This connection will advance how data is exchanged across the two companies’ platforms and strengthen healthcare organizations’ abilities to leverage cost data to improve care delivery.

The integration expands existing data-sharing capabilities and will help common clients — which include over 150 integrated delivery networks (IDNs) and more than 1,000 facilities — leverage the data in Epic to improve the accuracy and automation of care delivery costs. The automated exchange will easily and securely share data across Epic’s Data Warehouse and Kaufman Hall’s Axiom Cost Accounting and Decision Support solutions.

Building on existing data integration capabilities with Epic, this connection will better enable the straightforward synchronization of actual cost information from several departments — including pharmacy, surgery, cardiology and more — with Kaufman Hall’s Axiom Cost Accounting solution where it will join thousands of other data points for cost-of-care analysis. 

Kaufman Hall is also working to extend current extract capabilities of integration to create bi-directional integration with Epic. Two-way integration of cost information will make cost information dynamic and readily available to users of Epic. Providing clinicians with financially oriented information right within their daily workflow is a key contributor to bending the cost curve in healthcare.
